I have deleted the plugin via ftp
I have tried to delete the code in the .htaccess file, but whit didn’t help…:
# BEGIN rlrssslReallySimpleSSL rsssl_version[2.2.16]
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
</IfModule>
# END rlrssslReallySimpleSSL
I have entered my url in the wp-config file:
define(‘WP_HOME’,’http://example.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’http://example.com’);
What more can I do??
I assume you have a redirect loop. I always advise to start with removing the .htaccess redirects:
https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/my-website-is-in-a-redirect-loop/
If that doesn’t help, uninstall remotely:
https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/uninstall-websitebackend-not-accessible/
or, as you were doing, manually:
https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/when-the-built-in-deactivation-does-not-work-manual-uninstalling/
When verifying the work, please remember that browsers tend to remember the ssl url. So clear your history/cache, or use a different browser.
Thanks I’m back online again. I had to do the manuel uninstallation.
What happened? Does this mean that I can’t use this plugin, and how do I get SSL on my site. I actually only need it on the check-out page but I tried the:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /your-page-on-ssl/
RewriteRule ^(.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301, L]
But I don’t know exactly were to but the codes because also this gave me server errors :/
Thanks for the help
If the generated .htaccess rules give you a redirect loop, you’ll have to find an alternative. Maybe you can ask your host which will work for you.
