    hi

    Help! I need to delete lots of posts in a category (about 2000).

    the “Bulk Delete” plugin doesn’t work and gives this error message:

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 62914560) (tried to allocate 44 bytes) in /home/kahlua/public_html/all-about-ferrets.net/wp-settings.php on line 288

    I can’t get a response from the plugin author.

    “Mass Post manager” doesn’t work either. It proudly proclaims that it has moved/deleted posts between/from categories but actually doesn’t do anything.

    I have stripped back the theme to the WP default, but still no good.

    HELP!

    That could be you need more memory allocated to PHP. Methods for increasing the amount of memory a PHP script may consume

    1. If you have access to your PHP.ini file, change the line in PHP.ini
    If your line shows 32M try 64M:
    memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (64MB)

    2. If you don’t have access to PHP.ini try adding this to an .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit 64M

    3. Try adding this line to your wp-config.php file:
    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M');

    4. Talk to your host.
