HELP - I can't believe everything is GONE after upgrade! (22 posts)

I just did the automatic upgrade in WP and all of my pages and posts are gone! It's totally empty and nothing shows on the page but one little tab. The template is entirely empty. Please see http://www.pampermeplace.net/blog and let me know if there is anything I can do to get this all back. I have no idea how this happened.

Forgot to say that in my wp-admin (which works just fine) is an error at the top of the page which I am not at all sure how to correct.

    Here it is:

The wp-content/blogs.php file is deprecated. Please remove it and update your server rewrite rules to use wp-includes/ms-files.php instead.

I would appreciate any help at all!

You have not followed instructions with upgrade as you need to make those changes in your cpanel
you need delete blogs.php from root
and in .htaccess file change blog.php to ms-files.php
this is what you should have

    RewriteRule ^(.*/)?files/(.*) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]

I see that you using some other theme may be the theme is not compatible try and change to default twentyten theme and see if that works.

I do not think all is lost its just figuring out why the themes are not working

  11. Check your database. If the wp_posts tables are there, you're not lost.

Now, you DID take a backup before upgrading, as is recommended, right? Right?

I'm not great on the backend of wp so not sure how to check the tables. And no I didn't backup. I've worked with wp a long time and always upgrade with no problems so a big mistake on my part.

not sure what previous version was but should have been pretty current as I try to keep it up to date. I upgraded to 3.0.1

Wish I could just undo and revert back to my previous one.

Have tried to deactivate all plugins as one of those plugins may be conflicting.

the only other way I can think of is to go in server and check your database see if you have not lost all your data and as I am sure you must have lots of data and debug from server side.

Well, that did it as far as the theme showing up is concerned. I deactivated them all now have to figure out which one was the culprit. There are only a couple that were recent so will start with them. however I still have no posts or pages.

Funny thing, I tried to add a new post and it comes up blank. When I click PUBLISH it brings me to the posts page and says there are no posts. Will try again.

OK here are errors I see from the cpanel databases:

#145 - Table './andreao_wordpressmu/wp_1_posts' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

I still have data in both the wordpressmu and wp databases

You welcome glad that it worked out well at last was just the plugin that was that was culprit.
