My blog has been working fine — I think. Then today my husband told me there was something funky going on. I don’t see it on either Safari or Firefox, but Navigator has the problem and I have it running on browershots right now. So far five different browsers are having the problem.
The problem is that the sidebar is either being pushed down to the bottom of the page, or disappearing altogether. The odd thing about it, however, is that it is only happening on pages with individual posts. It doesn’t seem to be happening on the front page or in the categories.
I’m using a theme called “Waterlilly” that I have customized the CSS on. Other than that, the only thing I can think of that I’ve done is put a sitemeter counter at the bottom of the sidebar. I don’t know if that’s when the problem started or not, since I can’t see the problem on my end.
I’m on a Mac Powerbook 1.5g with the latest versions of Tiger and Safari, and WP version 2.2.1.
Can anybody help with this?
the pages arent structured the same so your CSS isnt being applied the same to your index.php and your single.php
On your index.php you have to additional divs:
<div class="main_title"> <div class="main_post">
Im not sure where they end, didnt look hard enough, but this is what I would do.
Display ONE post on your front page.
View your source, and save that file.
Go to the permalink for that same post, view your source, and save that file.
You now have two files, compare them, and see whats different. Keep in mind that any comment formatting is going to be included in one of those.
Okay. Thank you. I’ll do that.
I just noticed something very odd as well. My site is http://www.spiritcaat.com/spiritcaatblog .
When I chose one specific ‘recent post’ called “yummy yellow” the text in the sidebar changes to italic. It doesn’t do it on any other recent post I click on, only that one.
then you pro’ly have an unclosed
<em>somewhere, most likely within that post.
Found it and fixed it. Thanks.
God, I don’t know. I’m wondering if there are just certain pages (permalinks and categories) that are corrupted or something. The problem is that it’s not doing it on my only two updated browsers — Safari and Firefox — so I can’t recreate the problem.
My biggest problem is that I’ve got a migraine right now and simply can’t deal with this. Is there someplace I can go to hire somebody to look at this?
