I am a member of a student organization that currently have a very messy website with a complicated CMS system. We badly needed a facelift, so we created a mockup in photoshop of what we wanted the new site to look like:

Then we found out we wanted to use wordpress. So now I have been searching for hours trying to find a template that matches. But I have so far come up empty. Which is why I am hoping that maybe some of you know of a template that we might use to implement this design?

    thx

We can only suggest that you browse http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

Try using the filter and tag interface to narrow your search down.

Can you suggest any filters or tags I should use?

It's unlikely you will find a theme that looks exactly like that - so look for one that has the basic layout and then you can customize it from there. This theme has TONS of built in options and great support by the developer so it would be a good place to start:

Hehe, no, I wasn't expecting to find something that matched 100%. But I am looking for something with that basic layout yes.

It might be useful to add that I have no experience with wordpress what so ever. I don't know what it's possible to do with regards to adding or changing elements. The 4 boxes on my mockup is important. I'm sure that suffusion is a good template but I can't see that it features those elements?

If you want a certain layout/design, you can create a custom template - see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Page_Templates

This kind of work WILL require some knowledge of WordPress, HTML, and CSS - so if that's beyond your skills or ability to learn, you may need to hire someone. These forums can provide direction and some help, but extensive custom work is outside what we can provide.
