 * Help! how do I edit the image box around my images on my front page? I changed
   one of the images and now its messed up. I would like the images to be side by
   side or above one another with out the extra space to the right.

 * I would add a columns block with two equal columns and then insert an image into
   each column. You can then center each image in their respective column.

 * Have you tried removing the both images and adding them again? You could try 
   adding a column block and putting an image in each column?
