# Database errors

 * WP admin area reported database needed repair. It attempted auto-repair and I
   get this:
 * wp_users: 1 client is using or hasn’t closed the table properly
    wp_usermeta:
   6 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_posts: 8 clients 
   are using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_comments: 8 clients are using
   or haven’t closed the table properly wp_options: Table is marked as crashed wp_postmeta:
   10 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_terms: 3 clients
   are using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_term_taxonomy: 6 clients are
   using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_term_relationships: 6 clients are
   using or haven’t closed the table properly wp_commentmeta: 8 clients are using
   or haven’t closed the table properly
 * How can I recover from this?

 * – Also, from a security standpoint, I suggest you change the prefix “wp” to something
   more unique

 * Hey Tara, thanks for the link, it looks promising.
 * It’s an old installation of WP that needs to run 24×7 but you’re right, we should
   be making time for changing the table prefix!

 * Cheers, thank you, I think I’ve repaired it using phpMyAdmin. mysql is now restarting
   without reporting any errors, anyway, and the wp-admin area seems OK. 🙂
