Help! Cannot long into blog…

    I moved to my own domain and a WP blog this weekend. Been tweaking all weakend with no major issues.

    This evening, I somehow got logged out and cannot log back in. I’ve twice tried the WP password resent but when I try to log in with the provided password, I’m told it’s incorrect.

    When I come here, it recognizes me (i.e. it’s allowing me to post and says “Hello, justlinda” in the upper right.

    What can I do? How did this go wrong???

    Linda-
    WP 2.0 caches login information, so it’s possible that your site has cached a password that you’ve since changed (perhaps on another computer). Here’s what you can do to fix it:
    1. Login to your site via FTP
    2. To to your wp-content folder, and find the “cache” folder
    3. Delete the cache folder (or everything in it). WP will re-create this folder on its own.
    4. Try logging in to WordPress.

    This should do it. If you need to reset your password, you can do so by editing the database with PHPMyAdmin, directions for which I’m sure are available elsewhere on this site.

    Linda, did this work after deleting the cache folder? Or did you do the other thing?

    Um, I’m really embarrassed to tell you.

    All I did was realize that the username was case-sensitive. I, of course, always assume passwords are but it didn’t occur to me that the user name was.

    But as soon as I entered the user name as JustLinda (instead of justlinda), voila’ – I was in.

    {blushing} I’m sure I’m an embarrassment to my technical engineer husband. LOL
