Can someone please help me!!! I can't reach my webdude, its been over a month - he hosts my website and now I'm afraid he will highjack my content, so I need to figure out how to back up my site, then transfer to someone else to host.

I called GoDaddy as that is who I bought the domain from, they said see if he will upload the content to an FTP site, but if I can't reach him, is there any way I can get my site back? I don't owe him money, so I have no idea what is going on, but 90% of my new biz comes from my site, so I am freaking out!!!

Do you have admin access to the website? If so, you might be able to export the content, and import it to another WP install on a host of your choosing

To well and truly backup a WP site, you need FTP access to the files, and access to the database... but as a last resort, the export/import thing should work...

  3. If you have access to your WordPress admin, you can use a plugin like Backwpup http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/backwpup/

Once installed, you can backup everything as a zip file and download the whole thing to your desktop.

An ordinary backup will not let you easily move a site because of the serialized data in the database (primarily in the options table). Here is an article showing the steps I use to migrate (or copy) a site: http://wordpress.mcdspot.com/2012/08/22/migrating-a-wordpress-site-step-by-step/
