I installed WordPress last week and everything worked except I could not get the default templates to show up. The only one that ever appeared was an old blogger template that I immediately deleted. I recommended to my boss that we switch to WordPress and am now looking like a fool.

After screwing with every folder and trying to apply every trick/gimmick that I read online, I uninstalled and re-installed everything, thus obtaining a new password, which was sent to the same email as the original. That new password worked fine but I still only saw the files when going to the site/blog.

All the files are still there but now I can't login to the control center or anything. I've been handing this project to other people as well, and am not sure why the password won't work. I need a new one that will work. I figured if they changed anything the new info would be emailed to the same email address as before. Who do I email for new password info?

Also, if there is any advice you could give concerning the template not showing up, that would be very helpful as well. Does it need to be in the root directory? We are going through Discountasp.net.

I never imagined everything taking this long and have worked with other open source material before.

    Thank you.

A link to the site in question would help. All we can do without seeing is guess.

edit: Just noticed that the host you're using is an ASP shop. Do they support PHP?

    Yeah good call-

I'm looking up possible extensions right now.

This still does not explain why my password worked before but not now.
