My website is http://www.imagesbyterry.com it is hosted by Go Daddy.
I set up the site and found that the original Hello World page was still active even though I couldn’t reach it via wp-admin dashboard. I had set up a blog page, but whenever I tried to reach it via view page or the page permalink, all I got was the Hello World page, listed as uncategorized. I spent an hour on the phone with Go Daddy support. The support person was hosting support, but not familiar with WP. I told him to just put the page back in its original condition and I would rebuild it. I installed WordPress and started again and find I still have the same problem, the Hello World page will not go away. If you go to the site, you will see a menu with two positions labeled Home. One leads to a page that says this is the Home page, and that page is shown under Pages in the dashboard. The other is the original Hello World page. On the dashboard the Pages page and the Menu only show one Home. I’ve set up other WordPress sites without this problem. Go Daddy support doesn’t appear to be able to help. Any suggestions? I can send login information by direct email.

I solved the problem. I had to change front page displays to static page in the settings.

Yep, I found your Hello World page here:

    http://www.imagesbyterry.com/uncategorized/hello-world/

To find the above, I just pointed my browser to:

    http://www.imagesbyterry.com/?p=1

When one installs a WordPress site the default WordPress behavior is to create a sample post (i.e., Hello World) and a sample page (i.e., Sample page). Pointing your browser to, in your case, http://www.imagesbyterry.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit, once logged in, should take you to the Hello World post. Once there just click the Move to Trash link and your problem should be solved.

So I followed your link and was able to delete the Hello World page, thank you. So now I have a page called My Blog and when I click on it on the menu or even in the wp-admin page editor, I get a Nothing Found message, It seems as if there are two alternate universes there. What am I missing?

Well, I found the alternate universe. It seems that posts aren’t under pages, but rather under posts. Once I found that everything seems to work.
