I guess I can’t get it. It seems so simply yet it doesn’t work like you indicate it should.

    – The thumbnails do not appear in the cart.
    – The item name only displays the first word of the item name, not the item name.
    – I can find no method of customizing the add to cart button.
Shopping cart will not display my checkout button, replaced with my button but your Paypal button only appears, not my image. I even replaced your image with mine in the plugin images folder yet it still only shows your image, not mine. I also put my image url in the settings page, still no show.
    – If item is added to cart, there is no indication to user that it did.

I currently have PayPal cart buttons on the site. I tried yours but removed them until finding help making it work. I’d appreciate any suggestions. I have checked the documentation and following the instructions.

Oh, also my item variations do not appear, on the page or in the cart or checkout. Thanks

Hi, most of your question are answered in the following simple-wp-shopping-cart-installation-usage-290 documentation.

However in case the above does not cover all your questions, here are some extra documentations for you.

    – The thumbnails do not appear in the cart.

Please check the following documentation showing-a-shopping-cart-with-product-image-thumbnails.

    – I can find no method of customizing the add to cart button.

Please check the following documentation https://simple-shopping-cart-customize-the-add-to-cart-button-text-via-shortcode.

Let me know how you go.

    Thank you

OF course, links to what I just told you I’ve followed. Any more suggestions or links to follow of no help? Perhaps if I buy it I can get some answers. But then, why would I?

Do you have a shopping cart page added to your site? If you do what are the shortcodes added in that page? Can you also share the URL?

    Thank you

    coastventures

    (@coastventures)

    Yes, url is:
    https://coastventures.us/2020/01/shopping-cart

    The add to cart button:
    [wp_cart_button name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99” show_thumbnail=”1″ var1=”Hand & GearingIRight 6.5:1IRight 7.5:1ILeft 7.5:1″]

    View cart (in cart page):
    [show_wp_shopping_cart]

I also tried in the cart page:
    [show_wp_shopping-cart name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99” show_thumbnail=”1″ var1=”Hand & GearingIRight 6.5:1IRight 7.5:1ILeft 7.5:1″].

I also tried using thumbnail url instead of “1”. Though thumbnail was present in files, only a tiny blank image appeared. I followed the documentation. I could not find anything on variations on your website but I did get the variation shortcode info from the WP Details page. Thanks

Button was removed from product page, now using Paypal code button until I can make this work so you won’t see your add to cart button the product page: http://coastventures.us/2020/01/01/daiwa-cc80/. When I had one, the button appeared white/clear with an outline border. The button did add the item to the cart which titled the item as “DAIWA,” nothing more. No thumbnail, no custom checkout image, no variations, only the word and price and editable quantity.

I also tried the box set up and it worked though appeared really small. I already have product pages so don’t use that. The variations did appear in the box thing but no thumbnail image nor accurate item title (name).

    Hi,

    The add to cart button:
    [wp_cart_button name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99” show_thumbnail=”1″ var1=”Hand & GearingIRight 6.5:1IRight 7.5:1ILeft 7.5:1″]

I am not sure if your variation would work that way. Here is an example shortcode with variation control.

    [wp_cart_button name="Test Product" price="29.95" var1="Size|small|medium|large" var2="Color|red|green|blue" var3="Sleeve|short|full"]

I also tried using thumbnail url instead of “1”. Though thumbnail was present in files, only a tiny blank image appeared. I followed the documentation. I could not find anything on variations on your website but I did get the variation shortcode info from the WP Details page. Thanks

When using the thumbnail parameter in the shortcode, check the following sample shortcode.

    [wp_cart_button name="Test Product" price="19.95" thumbnail="http://www.example.com/my-product-image.jpg"]

Then add the following parameter show_thumbnail=”1″ in the following shortcode.

    [show_wp_shopping_cart show_thumbnail="1"]

The above works because I just carried out a test.

Try the above and see how you go. Make sure your other PayPal or shopping cart plugin is not interfering.

    Kind regards

I don’t understand what you mean. You say check one shortcode with image link, then add another shortcode with =”1″. What does that mean?

I thought the vertical line in variations was a capital I so used that. I need to correct it. It’s 5:00 so I’m off for the day. Thanks for your assist. I will check back tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Where is the checkout image displaying located? I replaced the one in your plugin image folder with mine and it doesn’t appear, still only yours. It must be called from elsewhere. I got the location by right click/image address.

    Hi,

I don’t understand what you mean. You say check one shortcode with image link, then add another shortcode with =”1″. What does that mean?

The thumbnail="http://www.example.com/my-product-image.jpg" parameter is added to the button shortcode.

Then in order for the thumbnail to appear in the cart you need to add the following parameter show_thumbnail=”1″ to the shopping cart shortcode.

Remember one shortcode is needed for the button and another shortcode is needed for the cart.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Kind regards

I don’t know. I guess I just don’t get it. You can see the item page at https://coastventures.us/2020/01/01/daiwa-cc80/. You can view the shopping cart page at any time by the VIEW CART link in the top header menu.

    I tried these:

    In my cart page
    [show_wp_shopping_cart show_thumbnail=”1″]

In my button on item page:
    [wp_cart_button name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99” thumbnail=”http://coastventures.us/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/daiwa-CC80-Baitcast.jpg” var1=”Choose hand and gearing | Right 6.5:1 | Right 7.5:1 | Left 7.5:1″]

The result of these was (see images uploaded) A button with variations dropdown. Dropdown does not work, no variation selections showing. Item name displays only first word. The cart page (see uploaded image) shows nothing after clicking add to cart button on item page 3 times; no thumbnail, no item, nothing, only shortcode shows on cart page.

So I tried removing my variations: [wp_cart_button name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99” thumbnail=”http://coastventures.us/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/daiwa-CC80-Baitcast.jpg”] with the exact same results as above.

So I tried removing the thumbnail also: [wp_cart_button name=”DAIWA CC80 Baitcasting Reel” price=”79.99”] & [show_wp_shopping_cart] with the same exact results as above.

Like I said. I guess I just don’t get it.

Ok, my button code is working now. I had a typo in it. The variations dropdown is not working and displaying correctly. However, after making selection and adding item to cart, nothing appear on cart page except the shortcode.

Correction: variation dropdown is noW working. Guess I’m still imperfect after all 😀

Not really.. nothing shows in the cart page. I don’t know if the button isn’t adding the items or what. The shortcode only is displaying on the page.

I checked your site. Do you have the following shortcode added in the same page with the product?

    [show_wp_shopping_cart]

I can see you have a shopping cart page https://coastventures.us/shopping-cart/. But the page only displays the shortcode and not the cart. Is the plugin activated in your site?

    Regards
