Hello and thanks for taking your time to do this.

I think i will speak the mind of many others if i point out that the color picker in twentynineteen can only select hue of some of the colors.

You cannot input custom color or select any on greyscale.

The official statement is that is due to accessibility reasons, but in my opinion (and probably many of you as well) there are tons of other hues/ colors that will fit the accessibility ideology and you still cannot select (f.e. black)

It would be nice to add “normal” color-picker or at least provide an input for your own hex color.

Thanks in advance and keep it up!

Great idea! I’ll take a look at how they do this and see if we can override it πŸ™‚

OK, so, not great news here …

Twenty Nineteen uses the Hue-Only Colour Picker which obtains a number from 0-359 rather than a hex colour code. This is then used throughout the theme in PHP and Javascript.

Greyscale denotes a LACK of colour and so does not fit into this model as hue requires a colour!

An over-ride would be to have an option that removes this theme option all together and replaces the colour system with a default pallet.

    What do you think?

Today we’ve pushed an update to the plugin which allows for more control over the primary colour.

    Enjoy πŸ™‚
