Height of gallery not responsive

I have a nextgen gallery in my responsive design. The problem I’m having is the height of the slide image is responsive but the container it’s in isn’t so the space below the slider image expands as the window gets smaller creating a large gap to the text below. I can’t find any way of controlling it. Has anyone else had this problem.
