  • So, after fork after fork of jetpacks clunky yet mostly useless package, even just the WP tracking has crashed 100 websites this morning… Fun fun doing sftp access all morning to disable it.. thats the last straw for junkpack.

good thing there are reliable coders who implement google tracking plugins that actually work and are reliable.

It really looks like you have a lot of problems with this free Jetpack software as a service.

Have you considered looking for alternatives to use? This topic really doesn’t explain what problem you are having except that it crashed 100 websites this morning.

If that’s the case then you should itemize what you use this plugin for and replace it. Except for the WordPress.COM portions like photon and WordPress.COM comments, WordPress.COM stats, etc. the rest can be replicated using other plugins.

WordPress is becoming one disappointment after another. Don’t even get me started on the DB mess they have created. Its really ugly. Why wordpress never implemented better DB and plugin management is beyond me. The fact that you need 30 plugins of the get go to make wordpress behave like a professional CMS is sad. I’ve written my own that is superior in all the important ways.

@native Imaging: If you’re having so much trouble, then you should use some other package, by all means.

WordPress is free and open source software. You can use it, or not use it, however you please.

But these are support forums. If you have some problems that you wish to post and get help with, then you may continue to post here. But if you’re not actually posting support issues, then your posts will likely be closed. This really isn’t an appropriate place for you to “vent”.

Could you give me more details about this issue? By looking at one of the 100 sites’ server error logs, you might be able to learn more about what caused it to crash.

Could you also let me know if the error comes back when reinstalling the latest, unmodified version of Jetpack?

It might also help if you could let me know the URL of one of the sites that crashed, so I can test your Jetpack connection once Jetpack is installed again.
If you want the site URL to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:
