 * Hello everyone!
I’m having some troubles with Hebrew encoding on my blog. It’s
in Hebrew as you may understand, and right now encoded as default (WP default)
with utf-8 which isn’t the recommended encoding for the language. Those which
are recommended for use are windows0-1255 and ISO-8859.
 * On my blog page there is the blog data and Hebrew paragraphs which do not come
from the blog itself (just plain text in Hebrew I’ve added). In the UTF-8 encoding,
that independent text is shown as gibrish.
    Anyway- While configuring my blog
at the prefernces as any encoding other than utf-8, the whole blog is messed
up. However when it’s back to utf-8 my own Hebrew text is back to it’s gibrish-
self 🙁 how do I solve this?
 * I took the time to describe this with a little screenshot:

 * I hope you’ll be able to help me!
    Thank you, Sarit

 * You can either convert the UTF-8 encoded WP language file to ISO-8859, find a
language file that is already in ISO-8859, or convert your posts to UTF-8 and
make sure you have a UTF-8 encoded Hebrew font installed. Both the language file
and the posts must be in the same encoding. [This page](http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/hebrew.html)
has some resources that may be useful. UTF-8 is usually preferred and recommended.

 * The text you marked as “gibberish Hebrew (not blog text)” is, I presume, hardcoded
in your template (meaning, you typed it into the template file)? In this case,
the important step is to safe the template in utf-8 encoding. Any good editor(
for HTML or coding) will have this option ready.
 * In principle, you could use either ISO 8859-8 or utf-8, provided that everything(
the template, the blog option setting…) is in the same encoding. In practice,
utf-8 is more universal. It is also the preferred format for localization files.
And you are free to mix Hebrew text with any other characters in your blog if
   you use utf-8.
