• I looked to see what some of the biggest burdens are when loading our site and the MailChimp java options — the “datepicker” thing and something called “mailchimp//css/Flick.css” were in the top 6!! This is true even though the signup form is buried deep in the site and seldom used. I disabled both those settings in the plugin but wondering why they loom so large when active.

  • Hey there,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear that those aspects of the plugin were causing issues/slowness in regards to the loading of your site. I’m afraid I’m not able to speak on the technical details of the loading issues that you’re seeing, however, I can make sure to pass along your feedback and experiences to our developers for further investigation.

For the time being, if you are seeing significant slowdown with the use of the datepicker JS file and the flick.css file, one option is to disable both from the plugin’s settings by unchecking the “Use Javascript datapicker?” checkbox. This should disable both files from being loaded.

Again, thanks for providing us with this information, and I’ll be sure to forward this on my end.
