  • 1-the comment box is surrounded by a blue-white shaded box. How can I get rid of it so it’s only white?

    You need go in default.css and look for this code around line 216

    #respond {
    background:#FFFFFF url(images/comment-bg.jpg) repeat-x scroll 0 0;
    border:1px solid #9CB6E9;

    Take url(images/comment-bg.jpg) repeat-x scroll 0 0 out so you will have
    #respond {
    background:#FFFFFF;
    border:1px solid #9CB6E9;

    That will make it white.

    2-just above the comment box, a similar blue-white shaded box displays tags and categories. I’d like to get rid of it too (just the background).

    Around line 180
    Do the same as above take url part out you will be left with

    .post-details, .featured-page-details {
    background:#FFFFFF;
    border:1px solid #9CB6E9;

    3-How can i use in-text ads that seem to come in the middle of the post? Kind of like they have on the following page:

    You mean adsense ads?

    Hello govpatel,

    Thanks for the prompt reply. I changed the code and it works fine. I still have a blue background for the text “Be the first to comment – what do you think?’

    How can I get rid of this line? I searched the default.css and comments.php but can’t find it.

    As for the ads, yes, I mean adsense ads.

    Around line 186 0n same file

    post-details .comment-button, .featured-page-details .comment-button {
    background:#2C58B7 none repeat scroll 0 0;
    border:1px solid #9CB6E9;
    color:#FFFFFF;

    take the line with background out and change #FFFFFF to #000000

    and you need to make another change as you took the background out and fonts were white

    around line 193

    .post-details .comment-button a, .featured-page-details .comment-button a {
    color:#FFFFFF;
    text-decoration:underline;

    Change #FFFFFF to #000000 to make fonts black

    as for adsense ads you have to add your adsense code in your single.php

    add your adsense in your articles.

    1. Login to your AdSense
    account and create a new AdSense code.
    2. Login to your WordPress Administration panel
    3. From the navmenu click Appearance > Editor
    4. From the Theme Files section, select Single Post (single.php)
    5. Within the theme editor window, scroll down to where it says <div class=”entry-content”>
    6. Directly below <div class=”entry-content”> add your AdSense code from step 1
    7. Click the Update file button and go view your site!

    You need to add
    <div style=”float:left; padding-top:20px; padding-right:10px;”>Adsense Code Here </div>

    If you want to float to left or right

    I tried the ‘adsense’ routine and it simply placed the ad below the title – is there a way to place it midway through the post? I tried copy pasting the code right into the post – which works fine – but I was wondering if there’s a shortcut.

    Lastly, if I could bother you about another issue – only 5 pages (including Home) out of 8 are appearing in the top menu. I haven’t excluded these pages from the ‘theme options’ and I think they’re missing because of the ‘search widget’. I tried removing it but it just left behind a white patch. Any suggestion?

    Thanks

    You do not have enough room in that nav-bar the only way you can get rest there is by widening the bar
    around 287

    #nav-bar {
    display:inline;
    float:left;
    height:33px;
    margin:0;
    min-height:33px;
    overflow:hidden;
    padding:0;
    width:653px;

    make that 33px to 66px and you will see other pages

    I have put adsence code same way and you can see them in my articles click on my name and then in recent posts I have articles.
