Hi @mariadf ,
Thank you for the honest feedback. None of it is unfair, and we would rather hear it than not.
To address the most important part first: no, we have not been sold. We are still the same company and the same team. You are also right that this was a change from how we usually approach new technology. We have not done an automatic plugin install like this before.
For context, what we were trying to do here was make the AI features introduced with WordPress 7.0 easier to use. The standard setup involves quite a few steps, including connectors, API keys, and separate models for different tasks, and we wanted to remove that complexity for customers. Our intention was to offer it as a useful default, not to make that decision on anyone’s behalf.
That said, reading responses like yours, we understand that this did not come across the way we intended for some customers, and we take that seriously.
As for the plugin itself, it can be disabled with one click per site. If you would prefer that we remove it across your accounts, just open a ticket and we will take care of it. If you decide to look at other providers, we understand, and we still appreciate that you took the time to share your honest feedback with us.
Best Regards,
