# Headline Splits

 * I have a WordPress site at [http://www.thewoodstreetextra.com](http://www.thewoodstreetextra.com).
   On the homepage where stories are listed, the headlines are breaking in annoying
   ways, so for instance you see:
    Riverhounds open season with deadlock, but keep
   focus trained on improving record
 * where it should read:
 * Riverhounds open season with deadlock,
    but keep focus trained on improving record
 * Any ideas on how to fix this?

 * This is how your Theme you are using breaks up your headline to fit in the static
   size box on the homepage.
 * Because the box is only so wide, only so many characters (white space included)
   will fit in there.
 * To fix it, you’d have to edit your theme’s code to widen the box. But doing that
   will affect everything on the right as well.
 * If you know how to code and design sites, go for it. If not, be real careful 
   because you could really mess things up.

 * Thanks. So then is there no way to set a sort of custom text box width for each
   headline? It’s not the length that I’m concerned with, but the headline style,
   meaning that each headline would have to break at a different spot depending 
   on what it says.

 * That might be a bit difficult. Your best bet would be to seek out a WordPress
   designer/coder and ask them your questions.
 * Don’t ask here as that is not something you should do in the forums here. Instead,
   use this site to find people who might help you (or just Google a WordPress designer):
