I’ve built a site using WordPress as a headless install. Am I correct in thinking that the Yoast plugin is ineffective with such a set up or is there a way around it?

    Hi @wp_fish,

Can you please provide additional information about your setup?
Some of the plugin settings, like title templates, indexing and sitemap features can be configured once and do not need to be checked in the UI. However, to take advantage of the content analysis features of the plugin you do need to check the post edit UI to get feedback.

@wp_fish pressumably you are leveraging the REST API for this setup? Most of the stuff that Yoast puts in the <head> is done for you by wp_head() but you won’t be benefitting from this in a headless scenario, you’re going to have to recreate that stuff yourself I guess!

You are correct to assume it’s ineffective. Usage of our plugin is limited in a headless install.
