[Resolved] headers in a child theme

  • If I’m creating a child theme, and I want to make changes to a file other than style.css (for example header.php), what would the header look like? Would I duplicate the entire header.php file into the child theme, or would I use an @import url command?

I want to make changes to a file other than style.css (for example header.php)

Using that as an example: Just start with making a copy of the original header.php file into the child theme directory. Then edit that copy in the child theme directory and you should be alright.

This way the parent will still be intact and so will your changes. Your child theme’s header.php will be used instead of the parent theme copy.

    I suspected as much! Thanks!!
