Hi there, I was wondering if there is something Im missing regarding the css or html regarding utilising Google Adsense responsive adverts within the header widget area.

I am using a basic WordPress text widget (the one included in a basic WP install), and including a basic Adsense responsive ad unit, but at present Im not seeing the adverts appearing on the full sized website, although they are present on the mobile version. Other Adsense responsive units are working in the sidebar on all versions of the site.

Can you have a quick look at primebling.com to see if you can advise? Im guessing it is a css issue, maybe regarding ‘display’?, but I may be off the mark.

Other similr Adsense responsive units are working perfectly in the sidebar, so it is just the header widget area we are having issues with.

    Cheers in advance! Richmond

& p.s. greta work on the Theme!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for using Merlin.

I have looked at your website but not found the reason why it is not display. Maybe an extra Ad plugin works better than the codes in combination with the text widget.

Other than that, any custom modification you might have made within the child theme might break the header widgets. By default, we do not know of any issues with the header widget area.

    Best,
    Thomas

Cheers for getting back Thomas, and thanks for looking over the site. I’m a bit mystified myself, and was thinking it may be child theme modifications, but cannot find anything we done which should cause these kinds of issues within the header. Although it certainly could indeed be the case, so I will keep looking!

Your suggestion about using another text widget sounds like a good next step. I’ll try that out, and if I find the issue I’ll pop back and post the solution.

    All the best, Richmond

This may or may not be the solution, but Adsense have removed the limit requiring no more than 3 ad units per page. Our full-sized site has 3 ad units, sized down it only has 1 ad unit. That header ad unit works in the mobile versions, and is currently the only ad served on mobile versions.

I think this may be the cause because they have not exactly lifted the limit but made it open to interpretation: https://webgilde.com/en/ad-limit-adsense/

My guess is that they say that the content does not warrant 3 ad units on the full sized site, thus removing the top header advert. Just a guess, but could easily be the case!
