Support » Theme: Magazine Basic » Header Widget doesn't appear in the right place

  • One thing I do like about 3.0.2 is the widgetized Header area, which I don’t believe was in the earlier version. It claims to appear to the right of the header text, but mine is appearing above it, making the header huge. Any idea how I can make it show up to the right?

    I am working on a solution so that it doesn’t jump above, but how large is your site title/logo?

    I’m not currently using an image for the header, just the site title. It only takes up a little more than half of the header area. You can look here:

    Yeah. If the widget area appears above that means that the two elements just don’t fit next to each other. I’ll see how I can solve this.

    Hi, I use Magazine Basic on my website Thank-you for a great theme!
    I have a logo image on the left of my header which leaves a big white space to the right, perfect real-estate! I am trying to use the Header Widgets. The problem I’m having is that the widgets seem to leave the space beside the logo, and appear under, to the right, making the header way too big, and full of empty space :o(
    I have taken the widgets off for now.

    A fix is coming.

    I’ve solved this by adding float: right; to #header-widget in style.css

    Thanks for the update. I’ve just tried it and the widget is now appearing on the left and shunts my logo over to the right

    Thanks, zabsv. That worked for me!

    Leigh, my code now looks like this:

    /* =Header Widgets
    ————————————————————– */
    #header-widgets {
    padding: 30px 20px;
    float: right; /* CHANGED so header widget appears correctly to the right of header */
    background: #ccffcc; /* CHANGED widget background color */
    }, {
    float: left;

    #header-widgets.fl {
    float: right;
    } {
    display: block;
    text-align: center;
    width: 100%;

    .header-widget-title {
    padding: 0;
    border-bottom: 0;
    margin-bottom: 5px;
    -moz-box-shadow: none;
    -webkit-box-shadow: none;
    box-shadow: none;

    .header-widget.widget_search {
    margin-top: 45px;

    .header-widget img {
    padding: 0;

    Ohh sorry, I misunderstood zabsv’s message. I thought the fix was in the updated version of the theme. Thanks very much for the code Parenthetical. I’ve fixed mine now.
