I want to add a social menu like Anders’s theme Garfunkel.

I’ve tried and almost succeeded in doing this, but while I have no problem understanding how the html & css works, I have insufficient knowledge of PHP theming to be able to do this successfully.

So, I’ve noticed that there are many social icon & menu plugins available, but these require either a WP menu or a widget to function.

So my question is this – given my skills, which would be easier to implement/more idiotproof — widgetizing the navigation, or adding an additional menu?

  • Hey there nihow,

    Hope you’re well! 🙂

I think the menu options is the best for you. I suggest you download the Garfunkel theme and look how the author integrate it. I think he use the “Genericons” for the social icons 🙂

Looking forward for your reply! 🙂

    Take care,
    Calvin

Thanks Calvin, I tried this already – almost had it working but not quite. I think I’ll get a developer to add this in for me.

I think I’ll get a developer to add this in for me.

Well, you can ask him the same question and tell him the easiest way you can add it so you will not be stress adding new ones 🙂

I suggest you mark this thread as resolved so other members with the same issue can see that this ticket contains an answer that maybe a possible solution for their issue.
