    Use the CSS background-size property and give the element that has the background a size of 352px;

    #branding {
     ... /* Other styles here */ ...
     background-size: 352px;

    Thx for the reply, but in what file do i need to add this??

    Download (and install) a Custom CSS Manager plugin.
    Then use that plugin’s allocated section of the dashboard to hold your CSS modifications.

    Hey Andrew,

    I installed the plugin called Custom CSS Manager, but if i go to the settings of the plugin, i only see a blanco page were i can’t edit anything. I only see the following on the right page =>

    PLugin Diagnostics Check
    Server OS: WINNT

    Required PHP Version: 5.0+
    Current PHP Version: 5.2.13

    Memory Use: 3.6 / 256M

    Peak Memory Use: 3.6 / 256M

    Hope u can help further 🙂

    For one other person, that plugin had broken.
    I’m going to instead recommend you use the plugin Jetpack’s functionality for Custom CSS.

    Whatever I try, when I go to upload and set a new header image, notwithstanding its dimensions, Mantra enforces a the ration of total width to header height, so it’s unusable.

    Something has got to be done about this generally or a solution provided in the form of Custom CSS.

    You don’t need external plugins for that, use the appropriate field of the Theme’s Settings.

    Definitio, if you require assistance beyond that provided in this thread, create your own thread.

    Thank you for you reply.

    I don’t think it’s beyond the issue of this particular thread, but rather the exact same thing.

    When the code that you have given above is used and the user attempts to upload a header image through Appearance menu, Mantra continues to force a certain ratio (total width/header height) on that image – so only a small part of it is selectable and the cropping appears mandatory – thus the issue has not been / cannot be considered resolved.

    Is there an alternative way to place a logo at the top, other than the Header selection setting?
