Header Setup for Dummies

    After time away from ver 2.5, I am trying another install with v 2.6.
    Does anyone have simple notes for controlling typical headers? I see some interesting samples, but most have FAT-OBESE-SPACE-HOGGING headers. I easily get lost in style.css as this is not my main occupation.

    I’m looking at “fluid”/variable width examples for which I would like the top colored section NOT to occupy around 200px, and get the text to move up when I shrink that background image.

    Blame it on my oldtimers disease.
