• Firstly let me say how I like the theme very much – thank you for creating.

The bad news is that while editing the website with this theme, the header text (site title tagline) and suddenly un-centered and the Menu shifted into the header image. I’ve tried removing css rules in child theme ( which I have activated ) and that does not help. Going back to the parent theme also leaves the header out of center and the menu in header image – you have to look carefully as there is only one menu item (Home). At the point where I got this problem, I had the following plugins installed

    Autoptimize
    Version 2.0.2

    Cookie Notification
    Version 1.0

    Really Simple Share
    Version 4.5

    Simple contact form
    Version 14.13

I’ve added more plugins now though.
Please tell me how to fix this as I don’t want to find another theme to use.
(before this theme, I was using tecblogger theme which had off center Title and tagline)

  • Hi acuvic;
It looks like this isn’t AO’s doing; compare http://carecuts.org.uk/ with the same URL but ?ao_noptimize=1 appended to the URL (which disables AO for that request). With AO disabled that way, the same problems occur, so there’s something else going on?

    kind regards,
    frank

That’s great Frank, thanks. It’s a good trick that eliminates one plugin without having to deactivate it. I’ve also disabled the Cookie Notification and the problem is still there. Simple share deactivated also doesn’t help. Simple contact form now deactivated but problem still there.

Being a live site, I’ve re-activated the plugins again.

Still looking for a solution. My feeling is that something (child CSS or plugins or previous themes) is affecting the core theme file adversely which remains corrupted even after those other factors are reset or removed.

oops, the shared server i/o limit has been hit – site will need time to recover! 🙁

OK, tried a few things more. Deleted the previous theme (Tecblogger) – no change. Reloaded Tribute theme (put it on Twenty Sixteen delete Tribute and then downloaded and activated again) no luck.

Running out of ideas. Hey Devs, if you see this problem, it’s a nice little challenge – probably just a few minutes pondering to solve? Please

Ah.. the problem is that the header image is being tiled horizontally. But strangely the title and tagline is on the first tile only …. the mystery deepens. Need a little more investigation.
