Support » Fixing WordPress » Header not showing on interior pages

  • I entered the following code in the bottom of the header.php attempting to make 3 social media icons appear to the right of my navigation pane:

    [Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

    The social icons appear in the correct place ( on the homepage only) just to the right of the navigation menu. The links work properly also, but when I click off of the home page onto one of the interior pages (about, menu, ect.) the social icons no longer appear. There is a box with a red x showing where the images should go with working links but no images.

    If anyone could be off any assistance I would greatly appreciate it. I have searched through previous posts and on the internet but have hit a wall on this one. I have tried turning off all plugins.

    I have tried placing the above code in different places within the header file with changes in outcome but none being the desired effect. I am posting below the entire header file in hopes of clear direction as to where the insert the corrected code. With the icons showing on the homepage but not on interior the code was pasted at the very bottom.

  • This is part of the code placed at the bottom of the header file. There are two other portions with different social icons and positions but roughly the same code.

    <div id="content-area">
    <div id="social" style="position: absolute; top: 61px; right: 115px">
                        <a href="" target="_blank">
                        <img src="wp-content/uploads/2011/09/facebook.png">

    I guess I didn’t read the forum rules about posting more than ten lines
