I had been trying to get a full width and approximately 150 – 200px height logo image to span the header, but with 1.2.1 Hueman version, it would show up as if it was seeing the 30px pad on the left even though my changes took away this pad and changed the title image dimensions. After clicking on something, my changes would show up. Now after installing version 2.0, I thought I had the problem licked by removing our logo from the logo box on the theme options page and putting the logo in the header image instead. When using View Site, it looks great, but when simply visiting the site after saving the change, I get a blank header area until I click something and then it looks great. What gives? The site is http://www.the-empowered-brain.com.

  • Tested on my end with no issues.

    1. In Settings > General, is your Site Title and Tagline fields filled in?
    2. Do you run any SEO plugin or something similar which modifies the wp_title? If you see on the homepage, it has just a – as site title, which may imply some conflict.

I tried putting the title in and taking it out, but nothing seemed to work. When the site title is there, it puts it on the page from the beginning and then the first click puts the image for the logo there instead. Do I need to have something set up as the about page or some other default page or default category for this to work properly? I also tried using a static page for the home page, but it had the same problem. Right now I turned the static page option off. Any ideas?

    Strange issue.

Can you try disabling all plugins and see if the issue goes away? If so, activate them one by one to see which one is causing the issue.

Which version of the theme are you using? Try updating to 2.0.1.

I installed 2.0.1 and still have the same issue. I would really like to start over if I can keep the things I’ve uploaded. How would I just go for a clean slate and still have access to just the uploaded content and no other files that could be clogging things up? Do I need to reinstall WordPress too?

Well, I started over completely 🙁 with a reinstall of wordpress, but at least it looks and acts like it is supposed to. Now, I’ve just got to go back and get all the images and posts back in again.

Glad that it works, but restarting from zero is never fun, I know 🙁
