Twenty Thirteen
Header image ~ one more time... (12 posts)

I've read several of the threads asking for help making an uploaded header image responsive.

Not knowing PHP and know very little CSS, what are my options?

Are there any plugins that can save me?

I chose the twenty thirteen theme specifically because I read how responsive the theme is... What a bummer. :-(

    WPMU DEV, Thanks for responding.

Is there any way around making adjustments in PHP or CSS?

Do I have to create a child theme to do all this? I haven't done it before and was hoping to avoid it for now.

    Hi @stock134,

You can make changes directly in PHP and CSS files of Twenty Thirteen theme but it's not recommended as changes made in core theme files will be overwritten and lost when you will update the theme.

Instead of making changes in Twenty Thirteen theme files, develop child theme and make changes in it.

You will find more information about child theme development on the following page.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Alternatively you can also use following plugins to make these changes.

It is related. I was hoping to find a solution without have to create a child theme and code modifications.

    Thanks,

    Hi @stock134

In this case you can search for the plugin to achieve this or develop one if it doesn't exist but don't change parent theme in any case as changes made in the parent theme will be overwritten and lost on theme updation.

I have used the jetpack plug-in for twenty thirteen. It works well for making the site responsive on mobile phones but unfortunately there is no solution for ipads that I can find.
