After a test launch of my WordPress site:

    http://op.ksqdesign.com/

I find the header image is breaking on my Galaxy Note 1. In both Chrome and Boat browsers, so the nav bar is lost too. Can anyone please assist?

    Many thanks.

  • Your header image is pointing to a file on your local web server. Did you move this site from your local web server recently?

I think that header image path is loading as localhost not your site that is the reason you get broken image this appear in pc too.

Thank you, Esmi. Yes, last upload was yesterday. Been learning about updating databases too. It takes ages to re-upload the entire site. Is there a specific set of files I can re-upload to address this, after I’ve changed the images file path for the live server? Or can I do it directly from my WordPress dashboard on the live side?

Before you upload anything from your local server again, you need to review Moving_WordPress. For now, you can re-upload your custom header image via Appearance -> Header.

Thanks. I’ll thoroughly go through ‘Moving WP’ before the next upload. I have WP dashboard access direct on the live server. Does it make sense to simply change the Header’s file path in Appearance -> Header in the live server’s WP dashboard for now? Or is it essential to do it locally and re-upload?

For me, a Child Theme of TwentyTen does not provide Appearance -> Header. Appearance only gives ‘Themes – Customize – Widgets – Menus – Editor’. That aside, once I figure out where to change it, can I change the Header’s file path in the live-side dashboard? Or does it have to be done locally and re-uploaded from there?

It should do. If it doesn’t, then there’s a problem in your child theme.

You were right. But I had to delete and reinstall the TwentyTen theme to make Appearance -> Header appear. I read the ‘Moving-WP’ info and I downloaded and ran the ‘searchReplace.php’ script on the live side. Now I’m getting nowhere solving my original problem. You will see the live link to the Header image is now updated but now it’s breaking everywhere.

I think you made some mistakes when running the search & Replace script…

Esmi, thanks for shedding light. All files paths sorted and all now rendering on Android. ‘SearchAndReplace.php’ does not solve everything, but a very handy script nonetheless.
