Support » Fixing WordPress » Header Image cutting off on mobile using Twenty Eleven theme with rotating image

  • Hi,

I’m using the Twenty-Eleven theme for my website: http://WorkingMatterVA.com

As you can see I’m using a rotating image (and want to keep that), however, when I look at the site using a mobile device (twenty-eleven is “mobile ready” and I don’t mind the wrapping menu), it totally cuts off the top image (if you type my URL into http://www.howtogomo.com/en/d/test-your-site/#gomo-meter/ you will see what I mean). In other words, I think the rotater may be preventing the image from re-sizing for mobile, so it just goes behing the menu except for a strip at the top.

What I’d like to do is set it to use a different “custom mobile” header image on mobile devices but have not figured out the best way to do this. Is there an easy way I can get it to switch or resize for mobile?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Patrick

  • did you ever find a solution for this?

    Afraid not….sigh. 🙂

As an alternative, you can pretty easily disable the mobile version of the theme… not the best solution, but worked for me.

Yeah…I still like it better with it on…even with the issue. And I don’t like those mobile plugin options. Seems there must be a way to have the header detect mobile and use an entirely different image of my choice.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
