Hi There,

This is my first website and so far i’ve managed to find my way around the basic wordpress setup. I am using Elementor Page editor and everything i’ve done using the editor works perfectly but I must have done something wrong in the “customizer” section as my header image now looks like it has a colour overlay on it.

Can someone please tell me what i’ve done.

Other things i’d like to know:

1) Is it possible to move the top menu over to the right so it does not cover the background logo?

2) is it possible to have the top menu buttons filled so the text is more visible?

Thank you for contacting us.
What you need requires some custom work. You can try following this doc to remove the dark overlay http://docs.themeisle.com/article/562-how-to-remove-slider-opacity-in-hestia and for the second part, you can try this one http://docs.themeisle.com/article/660-how-to-stop-navigation-area-overlapping-with-header-image-in-hestia-pro , but keep in mind it was designed for Hestia PRO, so you will probably have to get some extra custom changes.

Is there a similar piece of code to remove the dark overlay that covers the image on the Contact section at bottom of frontpage?

Hi @rodicaelena,

Thank you for your suggestions, the first of which has worked perfectly! No Overlay, Yay!

The second line of code does essentially fix the problem, however it makes the nav bar static and stops it following the page when I scroll. I’ve left it in play on the site http://www.abingdonbounce.co.uk so you can see what I mean.

Is there a way of achieving the same effect whilst retaining the “floating” nav bar effect? Its a shame its not possible to add a section above the header image and insert the nav bar in that section.

You can try to use the Very Top Bar section, in Appearance > Customize > Header Options > Very Top Bar.
