• Dear Forum,

    Our WP site (field-journal.com) is displaying this error:

    • Warning: Declaration of Imbalance2_Walker_Nav_Menu::start_lvl(&$output, $depth) should be compatible with Walker_Nav_Menu::start_lvl(&$output, $depth = 0, $args = Array) in /home/fieldj5/public_html/wp-content/themes/imbalance2/functions.php on line 102

    When I tried to log-on as Admin to fix it (I found directions for fixing this error message on the Forum), the system won’t accept my log-in information and gives me this message:

    • ERROR: Cookies are blocked due to unexpected output. For help, please see this documentation or try the support forums.

    I’ve unblocked all cookies and tried using another computer, restarting the browser, etc. but it doesn’t fix it. Also, the WP log-in page displays this message (multiple times at the top of the screen):

    • Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/fieldj5/public_html/wp-content/themes/imbalance2/functions.php:102) in /home/fieldj5/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 972

    Has anyone else encountered this problem? How can I fix it without logging in?
    Yikes!

    Your currently active imbalance2 seems to be the error.

    Your currently used theme could not be found in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory, as far as I can see.

    If this was a custom theme, you may have to go back to your developer team and ask them to make the necessary change(s) to the theme.

    If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product. Commercial products are not supported in these forums.

    Thanks T-P, I didn’t realize Imbalance wasn’t a native WP theme! I’ll check an Imbalance forum. Much appreciated…

    Just one other question… I can see why I’d get this error message when displaying the actual website on my browser (using Imbalance), but I’m also unable to even log-in to the WP site itself (using my admin log-in), which makes it impossible to even get access to the theme, plug-ins, etc. Why would the Imbalance 2 plug-in effect the WP site itself, even at the log-in level?

    The error you posted indicates imbalance2 theme.

    If you need immediate access to the dashboard, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename or delete the directory of your currently active theme. That will force your site to use the default theme (Twenty Twenty-one, etc.).
