I am trying to get my header to blend from left to right with the background. I am developing this site on my computer using it as localhost so there is no url to send you to in order for you to look at it. I can email screenshots to anyone who is willing to help me though.

The problem I am having is that the left side of the header image is white and it fades into a dark gray (almost black) on the right side. I have the left side blended perfectly using the repeat command on the header background image, but I cannot figure out how to do the same thing with the dark gray on the right side.

I have tried nested divs. I have tried Background: url(url1), url(2); with the background properties listed below it. I have tried many different things, but still haven’t got it.

I am using the Emerald Stretch theme that has been customized beyond recognition and everything has been smooth sailing up until now. I know this can be done I just can’t find the right code.

Please let me know what is needed in order for you to help me and I will post it immediately.

  • Why don’t you just create single image to use as the background for the header?

The header I want to use will not fill up the entire top of the screen and I have tried every manner of size adjustment. Plus, I wanted to see if I could get it to work, because it would make some nice effects and it might make it to where it will be uniform in every browser.

You can make the header fill the entire browser window if you want.

You probably have it in a wrapper/container div that is restricting it’s size.

Hmmmm, I didn’t think about that. Going check it out now.
