Support » Theme: Debut » Header banner size (468×60) is scaled down in Debut

I inserted a 468 x 60 banner into the Header area of my Debut theme but the banner displays smaller than 468 x 60. Is there a way to correct this so that the banner will display in its correct size?

    Hi there,

How did you insert the image in the header? Debut doesn’t support Custom Headers, so maybe there’s some CSS affecting what you’re doing?

If you can add a screenshot or live demo page, that can help too.

I simply placed the 468×60 image HTML into a Text widget box and inserted it into the Header widget area. It seems, though, that the Debut theme only allows for a “Search” box to be placed in the Header area, that’s probably why the banner appears smaller.

I’ve re-activated the Debut theme on my site, so you can see it here:

Oh! I see what you mean. That widget area is fixed at a certain percentage width to make sure it doesn’t collide with the site title and description, regardless of screen width.

If you want to have banners across the top of your header, you would need to make a child theme, then modify header.php and the necessary CSS to go with it.

    Thank you, Kirk!
