header background colour and slider links

Hi,

I’ve been trying to make the background behind where the logo and above the menu yellow. I can make the whole page yellow, or I can make the menu yellow or I can make a smaller box around the logo area and social icons yellow, but now the whole area across the top of the page. Can someone assist me?

Also, I can’t seem to get the slider to link to different pages within the site. I want it to link to a page, currently it is linking to the page that the slide and slide copy is located in instead of linking through to the information page. How do I link this to a separate page?
