Having Troubles With 301 Redirects

  • Hi All,

Having problems getting 301 redirects to work properly within my HTC Access file… I think it may have something with the RegEx I’m using…

I have successfully implemented a redirect for the former ‘search.php’ page, but my problem is for the former page ‘index.php?p=contact’

Here is what I’m using that’s not working:

    RewriteRule ^index\.php\?p=contact$ “http\:\/\/www\.mydomain\.ca\/contact\-us$1” [R=301,L]

When you go to the URL of the former ‘index.php?p=contact’ page, you just go to ‘mydomain.ca/?p=contact’, which gives you the homepage…

Any suggestion would be much appreciated – thanks!
