# Having Trouble Uploading

 * Hello, I am having problems uploading .docx files, I’ve done everything to allow
   them to upload. I’ve even tried a plugin to allow certain all kinds of extensions
   and that didn’t even work.
 * I even went into functions.php and allowed it by mimes, and that didn’t even 
   work, I tried even going into the php.ini and changing the upload information
   and memory_limit.
 * It keeps throwing a HTTP Error along with a 502 Bad Gateway after Trying a .docx
   file.

 * Sorry for the problem with the 502 Bad Gateway error when uploading .DOCX files.
   I was researching this issue and I found that it had not only been reported earlier
   in the WordPress forum ([https://wordpress.org/support/topic/502-bad-gateway-when-attached-a-doc-file/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/502-bad-gateway-when-attached-a-doc-file/)),
   but also in other types of software online. The current work around is to simply
   convert the file to a different format. I did a search in the Microsoft forums,
   and the closest thing I found related did not resolve it (in typical Microsoft
   fashion). Hopefully, someone has an update on this issue. Apologies that I have
   not been able to provide a definitive answer – only a possible work-around.
