• I downloaded Yoast SEO the other day but have been having trouble getting the Webmaster tools to work. I managed to verify my site with Google Search console using the Domain Name Provider method, but I’ve been trying to verify it using the HTML tag method as well since it suggests verifying with more than one method. I’ve also tried verifying Bing Webmaster tools using the meta tag option for Bing but neither is working. Using Yoast, I took only the code out of the meta tag, like the official Yoast website says to, and pasted it in the corresponding spots in the plugin, but both Google and Bing are giving me failed verifications. I even downloaded Insert Headers and Footers plugin, like WPBeginnner suggests, but pasting the whole meta tag into the header spot doesn’t work either.

I’m not against using the HTML and XML file upload method but I’m not sure how to use those. I have an FTP client, but I am unsure of where to upload the files. Can someone explain why the meta tag options aren’t working, or explain to me where to upload the files? My site isn’t launched yet, if that makes a difference, as I’m still setting it up, but I haven’t found anything online that says I need to launch the site before using the plugin.

    Any help is appreciated.
