[resolved] Having to adjust countdown every week or so (9 posts)

Why do the countdown add several days sometimes, making it inaccurate? How does this happen? I check to see if it is correct every so often and it is wrong often. I have to go back in and set the deadline again. Any way to fix it?

Are you using a Caching plugin, such as WP Total Cache?
Can not help you more if you do not include a link.

Baden, I am having the same issue and I am using a Caching plugin. I prefer not to disable caching if I can help it.

I don't lose days, but certainly over a 12 hour period it will be off by 30 or so minutes. It's almost like for every real second, the countdown is counting 1.5 seconds??

Yes I'm using WP Super Cache and my website is:

    ACAfine.com

Is there a setting in the cache plugin that will fix it? Thanks!

It's definitely a cache issue for me, however I have not been able to find a way to exclude the plugin from being cached. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The way most Cacheing plugins work is they cache dynamic info as a static html page. This means the actual server time is also saved into the static page, causing the time discrepancy. Please open a support issue with the developer of your cacheing plugin regarding a recommended work-around.

I understand the cache issue and have a request into W3 Total Cache. I would assume that hosting the java script files outside of my core site could resolve the issue as well? I have reverted to a simple countdown script until I hear back from W3 Total Cache, but looking at their support forums, it may be a while.

Thanks again for your help and for creating a very cool plugin.

Please let us know what you find out! It would be great if there was an easy way to exclude certain elements from being cached.
