I dont know if this is even possible with wordpress or any theme; I know there are websites that have things like this but not sure if it can be done with wordpress (theme used is thesis). I have a site (http://superwayne.com) that I am working on. We have a slider in the thesis feature box and we wanted to make it appear like the slider spilled off the page to the left and right (kind of like hulu’s home page). I did this with a background pic. the background pic seems to extend the slider off the page on both sides. At least with firefox where the page lines up with the background pic. It came to my attention that on other browsers the background pic did not line up perfectly with the slider. I have been trying to figure out why. but I just realized it is much worse. If the browser window is shrunk small enough the slider and the background pic will not line up at all. And so I am thinking that creating the illusion that the slider runs off page on both sides using a background pic is just not feasible. Not unless there is a way to anchor the page somehow to the background pic so they move “together”.
So – i am thinking all elements for the page need to actually be on the page. So I am wondering if there is any way to have pictures on a page extend off the outer boundaries of the page to the left and the right?
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.
