 * I have a wordpress site obviously. When I use Dreamweaver to create a folder
and a page inside to show seperate from my wordpress site it will tries to show
the page within the wordpress framework and says ‘file not found’. Is there a
trick to getting a self-created html page to show up once you have WP installed?
I made sure that there is no WP folder that has the same name.
 * Thanks!
    Nancy

 * There’s no trick as far as I know. I have multiple sites that have other basic
pages outside WordPress, or complete systems outside WordPress and they work
fine. WordPress tries and redirects traffic to any similar URL’s. So that’s what
I would look for, to see if the folder and file names you are using are similar
to anything you have on WordPress. It doesn’t even have to be exactly the same,
just similar. This is usually nice, since it helps keep traffic for people that
type the URL wrong, but it makes it hard to have separate pages.
 * You can also try adding some custom code to your .htaccess file, to disallow
any redirects for your static directory. I’m not an expert with .htaccess though,
   but [this](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6428448/rewriterule-exception-for-static-page-outside-wordpress)
   might be of help.

 * Thanks for the reply. I knew wordpress did the redirect thing so I was testing
a few funky folder names just to be sure but still no luck. I know I’ve done
it on other sites but its not working on this one. I will check the htaccess
   file thing. Appreciate the info!
