Have archive-product.php display products by category with category image?

Hi,

I’m going through the code and trying to figure out the best way to change the archive-product.php page to have the main shop page display all products broken down by category (and sub-category) and display the category images if uploaded.

Should I just rewrite my own custom loop functionality and replace the call to genesiswooc_content_product(); while overriding archive-product.php in my child theme, using that as a base for the functionality and going from there, or is there a better way that I’m not thinking at the moment?
