    Is there an easy way to bump the primary sidebar toward the top of the home page in the Hatch theme?

    My site is here and you can see the text in the primary sidebar is shifting down below the Promotion Slider plugin. Ideally it would be level with the top of the Promotion Slider.

    On other pages of my site, the Primary Sidebar seems to start toward the top of the page by default, even with the slider in place, see this page for example.

    I believe it has something to do with code on my home page, which is currently set as a static front page of the site (under settings > reading). When I change this setting to a different page, the same problem persists.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • The width of your content on the home page is set at 100% in your style.css. You need to set it the same width as this:

    .singular-page #content

    Using Firebug for Firefox will help you find the code easier. Always make the changes in your child theme style.css.

    i had actually tried that previously. i changed the width on the following code:

    #content, .singular-page.page-template-fullwidth #content {
    	float: left;
    	width: 68.08510638297872%;
    	margin: 0 0 40px 0;
    	min-height: 180px;

    the above code didn’t do the trick, even though this width normally reads as 100%

    i also tried changing this width so it looks like this:

    #main {
    	clear: both;
    	width: 68.08510638297872%;
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	position: relative;

    so far, no luck

    Try this one:

    .home #content, .archive #content {
        width: 100%;
    }

    Change to the 68 %…

    Worked perfect. Can’t believe I overlooked that. Thanks Yogi
