Hello,
You could try this plugin
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/frontpage-category-filter/
Or try following this string if you are familiar with coding
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/filter-by-category-main-page-feeds-etc?replies=7
Then you can just filter out the category you do not want to show
<?php if (have_posts())
: while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<?php if ( !(in_category(‘4’)) || !is_home() ) { ?>
<!– show the other categories –>
i am actually having a simalar problem on a website with this theme. I would also like to have a link that says “blog” and a static home page. I made a new page called “Blog” and in setting->reading marked “A static page (select below)” and set the “Front Page” to “Home” and “Posts Page” to “Blog”
This seemed to do the trick but then the template is not right. Instead of rows of entries there is just one vertical line of them.
Here is the URL of what I am talking about:

Can someone point me to a fix for this? Or have a fix suggestion?
thanks!
Hey,
You should make a category-template for that new page and then you can customize it accordingly.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Category_Templates
In your css, try adding:
.blog .hfeed .post{
float:left;
}
yeah sorry…. none of this really worked…
not sure. again.

the boxes there should be next to each other not on top of eachother. this should just work with hatch out of the box no? when the home page is set to “static” ad the blog page is set to “news” or something to that effect no?
thanks!
