Hash symbol at end of url (7 posts)

Recently a couple of my websites have a hash symbol at the end of the url. For example it appears like http://www.website.com/#. I really want to remove the hash from my website url. I've noticed that a website I didn't update my SEO Yoast on does not have this problem.

Could the newer version be the problem, and if so how can I revert back to the previous version of Yoast?

  2. It's not Yoast's plugin, unless they're showing up after you click on an rss link or something similar.

Can you share an example with real URLs?

  4. Autoplay is evil ;)

That's indicative of a slideshow plugin normally. Something in JS that does it.

You can test by turning off your plugins, though.

Thanks so much I really appreciate it. I think I know what the problem is now so I will look into it.

    One more quick question...

Will the # hurt page ranking in any way?

  6. Nah.

The search engines ignore anything after the '#' sign, so you are fine.
