    It can be a bit complicated to set up. At the time that I needed this (several years ago), there was no plugin available that did what I needed it to do. So, I created this plugin to do what I needed it to do, and I released it here in case anyone else needed something like this. I still use it on a few sites, and so I’ll continue to maintain/support it. I’d rather keep it light and optimized rather than creating a simplified user interface that may bloat it.

    Or, a simplified user interface may actually slim it down a bit.

    Actually, not at all. It would require many more lines of code, take more memory, and absolutely slow down the WP admin area, which is something I don’t want to do.

    Then start from the very beginning—it’s a really fine place to start—and try a complete re-write of the code.

    Maybe you didn’t understand my response. I wrote the plugin the way I wanted it to work, which is fast and optimized. I have no intention of bloating it with an interface that will slow down the dashboard area simply for people who find it too complicated to set up categories. The plugin works very well on several very high profile sites.

    You are free to use whatever plugin you like. This plugin wasn’t written specifically for you. If you don’t like this plugin, you’re free to find another one or write your own. You are not even making an actual support request, so I can’t help you.
