  • This plugin has bug when outputting next and prev meta tags.
    if for exaple I have
    http://example/news/page/5/?id=55 page

    it displays next and prev links in meta tags with query string in it
    <link rel=’next’ href=’http://example/news/page/6/?id=55′ />
    <link rel=’prev’ href=’http://example/news/page/4/?id=55′ />
    it is wrong because it can lead to duplicate content issues in seo.

    it should output canonical urls of next and prev pages
    <link rel=’next’ href=’http://example/news/page/6/’ />
    <link rel=’prev’ href=’http://example/news/page/4/’ />

    Hi Vahan4033,

    Can you tell me what your Permalink structure is? It may be difficult to achieve this for all permalink structures but we’ll see what we can do. Also, can you provide your website URL.

    I already fixed issue in my website myself. You can look at Yoast SEO plugin which doesn’t have that problem and try to replicate it in your plugin. (I did so)

    My permalink structure was one of the default ones. “postname”

    I found another bug. Wy you didn’t tested next prev <link> meta tags carefully?

    For example I have blog page with pagination 1, 2, 3… on

    on the second page I got previous main (the first) page prev link in the form of
    <link rel=’prev’ href=’’ />
    instead of just displaying canonical url (without trailing /page/1/ part)
    <link rel=’prev’ href=’’ />

    yes wordpress does 301 to canonical ->

    but it is a bug. Your plugin should display canonical url.
